WRECK OF A CUTTER.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —press association.] New Plymouth, Wednesday. The 32-ton fishing cutter 'fauranga was wrecked off Tapuae River, about six miles south of the breakwater, on Monday night. The crew, Petersen, Fied.ericksen, and another, left Nelson on May 18, and tried to pass the Sugar Loaves on Saturday, but the wind was unfavourable, and they anchored behind the Sugar Loaves. The wind changed on Monday night, and a heavy sea arose, the boat being nearly swamped* Eventually the anchor dragged, and she was driven ashore. The men ant ashore on Tuesday morning, saving their effects, but the cutter broke up. The boat cost £110, and was not insured.
