At the Supreme Court John Harris was acquitted of the charge of breaking, entering, and stealing, his companion, Eocles, who had pleaded guilty in the lower Court to taking things from his sister's house, giving evidence that Harris had nothing to do Vritb the case except that he assisted him to remove the clothing, etc. Martin Brady, alias Michael Kelly, with a bad record in Auckland, was sentenced to three years for stealing from the person. Ho had snatched a pocket book from a drunken sailor, but was pursued by two other sailors.
