EMPIRE VETERANS ASSOCIATION.
PRESENTATION OF BADGES. fHH presentation of badges to members of the Empire Veterans' Association was made on Saturday afternoon at Government House by , His Excellency the Governor. The veterans, including the supernumerary rank, mustered to the number of about 240, and paraded at half-past three in front of Government House, where the presentations *<sre made by the Governor, who was accompanied by Lady Ran furl y and several members of his suite, as well as by the Hon. J. Carroll. In presenting the badges, His Excellency said that they were the tokens of membership, and he explained how they should be worn. The veterans were introduced to His Excellency by Captain Daveney. Amongst those present were Lieutenant-Colonel Abbott, D.5.0., Lieuten-ant-Colonel Parker (divisional commander, Coastguards Brigade Artillery), Major Morrow, V.D., Hon. Major Morrow (Indian service), Captain-Commandant Leßoy, Captains Howard, Mitchell, Richardson, Potter, and Broun, and Cornet 11. Wrigg (Bay of Plenty Cavalry, N.Z.C.). The total number of veterans included in the membership of th« association is about 350.
