Hall-Jones has been in communication with Mr. Hancock, engineer of the Bay County (California) power scheme, who is unable to leave America for two months, but is writing to the Minister, and no doubt will indicate the terms on which he would be prepared to visit the colony. The other oilers received by the Minister are being held over till the receipt of Mr. Hancock's letter in reply.
