THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL.
The mail steamer Sonoma is due from Sydney early this morning, and has a large number of passengers for Auckland and San Francisco, and the list will be considerably augmented at this port by a number of well-known residents who are en route to the United States and Europe. The Sonoma is timed to proceed on her voyage to island ports and San Francisco at two o'clock this afternoon, and is due at the Californian port on Monday, March 2, and the mails by the steamer are due in London on March 13. . The Sonoma will also take a large cargo from Auckland for Island ports and San Francisco, including between 1500 and 1600 bales of flax for America, which is one of the largest shipments of flax ever taken away by any one of the mail steamers of this line.
