FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATIONS.
[BY telegraph. — ritES.3 association.] TIMARU, Saturday. The 21st annual meeting of the Canterbury Farmers' Co-operative Association was held this afternoon. There was a large attendance of shareholders. -Mr. John Talbot, chairman of directors, presided. The balance-sheet showed the net profit of the past year £12,305, and carried forward from last year £1147, making a total of £13,453 available for distribution. It was decided to pay 8 per cent, on the capital paid up, and a 6 per cent, bonus on purchases by shareholders, a refund of 25 per cent, on grain and auction commissions (wool excepted), a 6 per cent, bonus to the staff, to add £1500 to the reserve fund, and to carry the balance forward. The turnover for the year was about £400,000. The retiring directors were re-elected without opposition. Oamaeu, Sunday, At the first annual meeting of the North Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association a dividend of 6 per cent, was declared, 20 per cent, written off preliminary expenses, and £297 0s lOd carried forward. The turnover for the year was about £50,000.
