o [HIT T£L£(iAAX'H. —I'KESS ASSOCIATION.J Hr.VKDt.v, Friday. Tin: case of Barnelt and Grant v. Detective Campbell came up at the Supreme Court. The plaintiffs had claimed damages for wrongful seizure of books and documents. The Court gave judgment for the. defendant, but this was reversed by the Appeal Court, "and the case now came tip to assess da.mages and costs. Mr. Justice Williams said it had been a very proper case to go to appeal, as the question involved was almost a constitutional one. Following the example of the ea.se at Live, rear gill, he would allow £5 and costs on the lowest scale.
