..... -» I.BT TELEGRAPH.— rtIKSS ASSOCIATION.] Dcn'ldix, Friday. Mr. Jons White, solicitor, addressed the Port Chalmers electors last evening. He announced himself a strong Opposition candidate. He advocated the curtailment of expenditure, and that borrowing be reduced to the lowest amount feasible. He further thought that there should be a big reduction ill the defence vole. The Bootmakers' Union held their meeting in the Foresters' Hall on Thursday evening. The nomination of Labour candidates was tinder consideration. Messrs. A. Rosser and J. Aggers had previously been nominated. Mr. Aggers, who asked for time to consider, informed the union that he could not see his way clear to accept nomination. It was resolved to send in Mr. Russet's nomination.
