9 New Zealand Herald Office, Friday evening-To-DAT Messrs. G. W. Binuey and Sons (Mr. Kingawell, auctioneer), acting on behalf of the Auckland Harbour Board, sold the lease of a portion «f the morgue site at the foot of Hobsou-strcet-'to the Auckland Electric Tramways Company. The allotment measures 54ft by 26ft, and is to lie used as a site for the pumping-house in connection with the company's power station. The upset rental of £10 per annum whs paid, the lease to extend over a term of 21 years. LONDON. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— LOXDOX, September 11. Copper: Spot, £53 12s 6d; three months. £53 17s 6d. AUCKLAND FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKETS. Business has been fairly brisk in the local produce markets during the past week. The price of potatoes has still tin upward tendency, although Southern values have not yet been reached. Onions have been in better demand at increased values. Southern apples are coming to hand in had order, and consequently the American article will have to fill in the gap, which cost ill per ton landed here. There has been a fall off in the supply of dairy produce, especially dairy butter. Eggs are in unlimited demand, realising 9}d per dozen under the hammer. Poultry has been sent in in moderate numbers, for which there is a strong demand, and which is likely to continue. The fruit market is dull. Lemons, which sixweeks ago were worth 8s 6.1 per case, are now only worth 3s 6d. Marmalade oranges are. still in unlimited demand. Apples are still pouring in from Christc.hurch and Nelson, with regular shipments from Hobart.
