ALLOTMENT OF WORKMEN'S HOMES.
A selection by ballot and allotment of workmen's homes at Methuen (Avondalo), under tho Lands for Settlements Consolidation, Act, 1900, was conducted at the Crown Lands Office yesterday b* Mr. Gerhard Mueller, Commissioner. Twenty-nine sections were offered, two being disposed of by ballot, and seven by allotment, without ballot. Of the remainder two were withdrawn, and 18 remain open for application. The following were allotted by ballot:—Lot 13, section 11, Hetana, New Lynn 5 acres, 11. .1. Edmonds (carpenter); lot 1, Methuon, 1 acre ii roods, 12 perches, Mrs. Mary J. Bardsley. Tho following were allotted without ba.Tot:— Lot 2, Methuen, 1 acre 2 roods, B. Griffiths carpenter); lot 30, Methuen (homestead), 10 acres 3 roods 37 perches, Wm. Lane (journalist); lot 6 Plunier Hamlet, Henderson, 3 acres 3 roods 33 perches, C. Carrington. _jun. (carpenter); lot 7, Humor Hamlet, Hen, derson, 3 acres 2 roods 30 perches Ld. H. Holt (carter); lot 22, Crw oj-k, 1 aero 2 roods 11 perches, Mrs. G. Griffiths; lot 7 Methuon, ?. acres, 0 roods 28 porches, Mrs. A. M. Boyle; lot 16, ITumcr, * acres 0 roods 11 perches, C. 0. Woodward. ine sections unapplied for remain open for application at the upset rental. No sections in the Kitchener Hamlet (Avondale) have been applied for.
