During March the Talisman Consolidated Gold Mining Company crashed and treated' at their battery at Karangahake 2360 tons , of ore for a return of bullion valued at £2545. A RETURN OF £2222. During the four-weekly period ended April 2, the Kauri Freehold Gold Estates Company crushed 2255 tons of ore, for a return by amalgamation of £1057 39s sd. From the ore crushed 1500 tons of tailings were caught in the "sand vats and 685 tons of slimes in the slimes settlers; 371, tons of tailings - from the previous periods'and 624 tons from the present one, total 1247 tons of mill tailings, and 47 tons of old tailings from the paddock, were cyanideil in (he period, leaving 624 tons in the mill untreated ; 648 tons of slimes were treated by cyanide and 37 tons left in the plant at the end of the period. The total return by cyanide treatment of sands and slimes '* was £1164 13s Id, making the return for the period from all sources £2222 12s 6d., The stamps ran for 399 hours, crushing at the rate of 3.4 tons per stamp per day pf 24 hours. • WELCOME JACK G.M. CO, £213 FROM 45 TONS. During the four weeks ending April 12* the Welcome Jack Gold Mining Company, crushed, and treated 45 tons of ore for a' return of bullion valued at £213 14s 2d„.. or an average of about £4 15s per ton. , The previous return was £220 15s lOd from 40 tons treated. KUAOTUNU SYNDICATE, | £302 FROM 380 TONS. During the past month the Kuaolunu Syndicate crushed and treated " 380 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £302. A telegram lias been received at the local office of the syndicate from the . manager of the mine, stating that rich ore < has been struck in the south winze. '*' KOMATA REEFS G.K:CO. £1930 FROM 860 TONS. During the past month the Komata Reels Cold Mining Company crashed and treated 860 tons of ore for a return of bullion, valued - at £1930. This shows an increase upon the previous month's return, when 710 tons yielded £937. - HIKUTAIA GOLD SYNDICATE. During the month of March the five, stamp mill of this syndicate crushed 435 tons for a yield of 22705:, valued at £364. This only represents the bullion recovered from the plates and cyauided sand, while 113 tons of slimes remain untreated. The whole of the ore treated was taken from the slopes north of the No. 1 rise.

CHELMSFORD G.M. 00. During the month of March this company crushed 223 tons of ore for a total yield of bullion valued at £370 16s Id, of which £236 14s 3d was obtained byamalgamation, and £134 Is lOd by the cyanide process. This yield, compared with the previous month's return, shows an increase of £43 16s lid. THE BULLION CLAIM (TAPU). Messrs. Manuel and Plunimer, who re* cently acquired a new block of ground on tribute in this mine, have just crushed 301b of picked stone for the excellent return of 440z ldwt of melted gold, valued at £136 14s 9d. WAITAIA G.M. CO. The Waitaia Gold Mining Company (Kuaotumi) cleaned up from 138 tons at ore, treated by amalgamation only, which gave a return of melted bullion valued at £461 7s 3d. Good grade ore is coming to hand from the slopes. GREAT MERCURY TRIBUTERS. Messrs. Jim. Carroll and party, tributers in the Great Mercury Mine (Kuaotumi). have cleaned up from 140 tons of tailings treated by the cyanide process, for a return of 51oz 3dwt of melted bullion, valued at £69 13s 9d. THE ROYAL OAK G.M. CO. The Royal Oak of Hauraki Gold Mining Company's return for the past month, from' 40 tons of general ore and 4521b of specimens treated, was 481oz of melted bullion, valued at £1220 10s 9d. KAPAXGA TRIBUTERS. :» J. Martin and party, j tributers in the Kapanga mine, have treated 38 loads of ore from the old lips for a yield of 13ose 13dvvt of melted gold, valued'at £38 18s.

WAIOTAHI G.M. CO. The Watotahi Gold .Mining Company, dur» ing March, treated 90 tons of ore for a return of 1240z retorted gold, valued approximately at £340. HAURAKI G.M. CO.
