CHRISTCHURCH CATHEDRAL.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION*.'] Ciuustciiurch, Thursday. Some time ago Canon Pollock, who recently came to this colony from England, was appointed to organise the fund for completing Chriatchurch Cathedral. He refused to accept remuneration. Now, however, he has had additional expenses, and seeks for a cure as his private means are not sufficient to allow him to earn nothing. The church authorities, however, consider that the appointment to a cure would be incompatible with his present duties. Canon Pollock, therefore, has decided to return to England at the beginning of next year. A sum of about £1500 has been collected for the cathedral fund since the new movement began some months ago, but a total of £7000 is needed.
