LTKOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] TE AWAMUTU. \ THE usual monthly meeting of the Kangiaohia Road Board was held on Saturday, Present: Messrs. G. McKinder (acting chairman), R. Pell, R. Kay, T. Weal, and W. 11, Mandenc (the Board's supervisor). It wag agreed to do what was necessary to lie Board's drain at Voices'. Mr. Corrig.xn waited on the Board, and aßl>-id to have » piece of swamp road, opened leading; to his property. The supervisor reported that ilie cost of a dray track would be about £20. Clio worst feature would be its maintenance; this would take more than the rates collected in that particular district. It was decided that members inspect before doing anything: The Government intimated that £10 18? 3d had accrued. Mr. Roche., waited on the Board on behalf of Mr. Johnson, of Ohaupo, asking the closing of a read running through " Holmwood." A letter was received from owners of neighbouring property giving IMr consent. It is supposed that the dwellinghouse is built on this road. The matter was held over for the present. Mr; Johns, of Te Rahn, also waited upon the Board re closing 'a road through his property into the Eotorangi swamp. The manager of the estate was of opinion that the road was of no use. The Board declined to do anything in the matter at present, as the Rotoraas' Estate was being cut up.

A tramway is to be constructed to bring the coal out. It is situated only six miles from the railway line. The Wuihi Gold Mining Company have prospectors at work gettlnc out samples.
