Note.—An English mail, via Suez, dated London, September 20, will arrive here on Monday, 4th inat., per s.s. Waikare. KING'S BIRTHDAY. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9. The Post Office notifies the following arrangements:—The s.s. Sierra, with Australian and probably English mails, will be timed to arrive on Friday night in lien of Saturday morning l , and her mails are expected to bo sorted into private boxes before midnight. She will leave for San Francisco oh Saturday at 10 a.m., in lieu of 2 p.m. as usual. The mail from the South, ex Takaptma, should arrive by the twenty minutes to eight a.m. train from Onehunga. The Post Office will be closed oil Saturday except between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., when it will be open for sale of stamps and delivery of correspondence. All mails" usually made up on Saturday will close at 8 p.m. on Friday, hut supplementary mails for Samoa. Honolulu, the United States, and United Kingdom, etc.. will he closed at 9 a.m. on Saturday. There will be no delivery by let-ter-carriers on Saturday, but the office will be specially opened oil Friday night between 7 and 8 for over-counter delivery of carriers' letters. _ _ S. B. BTSS.
