On Tuesday Messrs. Buckland and Sons sold at their mart, Albert-street, four farm sections near Pakuranga. KAAURI GUM MARKET. The following are our quotations of kauri gum for the week ending October 28, 1901: — White gum: Poor ordinary, £27 and upwards ; fair ordinary, £47 and upwards; bold three-quarter scraped, free from nuts, £7* and upwards; East Coast, best quality, £70 and upwards; re-scraped, £115 and upwards. Black gum : Nuts, sifted, £10 and upwards; medium, free from sugar, £18 and upwards; good, £*8 and upwards. Remarks on market : Supplies for 23 days of October, 560 tons. Best beef, 24s to 275; other, 218 to 235; prime heavy steers, £10 to £12; others, £7 17s 6d to £9; prime heifers. £8 to £10 15s; heifers. £8 103 to £7 10S; prime cows, £7 to £9; others. £6 to £6 10s. For store cattle. 300, mostly good sorts, there was better demand.
