NOTICE TO CRICKET CLUB SECRETARIES. In order that a complete record of matches played in the various grades of the Cricket Association championships during the coming season may be published weekly, secretaries of clubs are invited to forward a complete list of scores, together with any comments on the matches, to this office, lists to be addressed to " The Cricket Editor, Herald," and handed in not later than six o'clock every Sunday eveiaing.' Scores not sent in before Sunday mt.y be left in the letter-box. Queen-street entrance, but in all cases it would be preferable, and would more readily ensure insertion, if the scores were left in the front office during Saturday afternoon or evening, the counting office being open on Saturdays until ten p.m. Secretaries of junior clubs are also invited to forward any notes or comments of interest on piny and players for insertion in Saturday's issue, same to be addressed to " The Cricket Editor," and to reach the office not later than midday on Thursday of each, ' week. Scoring sheets for the weekly matches may bo obtained on application at the office. LADIES' GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP. The New Zealand ladies' golf championship meeting- was continued at Cornwall Links yesterday. In the second round of the championship the record of the Auckland Ladies' Golf Club for the new links was twice broken. Miss Lewis lowening it to 96, and Miss Gillies finishing in 93. Following are the remits of the second round of the championship: — Miss Johnston, Wellington, Iwat Mrs. Turnbull. Wellington, by 6 up and 4 to play. Miss Gillies, Auckland, beat Miss Lewis, Auckland, 4 up and 2. Mrs. Fergus, Dunedin, beat Mrs. Ogston, Dunedin. 2 up and 1. Mrs. Bidwell, Wairarana, beat Miss Rattray. Dunedin, 4 up and 3. An approaching and putting competition took place in the afternoon. Mrs. W. R. Bloomfield, Auckland, and Mrs. Ogston, Dunedin, tied for first place, and on playing off the tie Mrs. Bloomfield finished from three distances, 20yds, 40yds, and 80yds, in 8, winning first place. Mrs. Ogston, who finished in 9, bein£ second. In the driving competition Miss Lewis, Auckland, won first prize, driving 130 yds against_the wind. Miss Bell, Wellington, was second, with a drive of 129iyds, under the same conditions. CYCLE ROAD RACE. A meeting of those interested in the formation of a polo club was held in the Wairoa Hotel. Clevedon, on October 7. Mr. A. Sohmjti was voted to the chair. After it was decided to form a club, the following officers were elected: —President, Mr. Herbert F. Robertson: committee, Messrs. H. ' Burgoyne, Douglas Stewart, C. Schmitt, Holga Orum, A. Schmitt, Lennard, Burgoyne (secretary and treasurer). Mr. H. Burgoyne has kindly placed a good paddock at the disposal of the club. It was decided to open tho season on .Saturday afternoon, October 26. The secretary was requested to write to Mr. M. Wynyard (treasurer of the Auckland Polo Club) thanking him for book of rules and promises of assistance.—[Wairoa South Correspondent.] WAIHI RUGBY UNION. Waihi, Wednesday. The Waihi Rugby Union met at Pilling' elubroom last night, Mr. T. Palmer occupying the chair. It was stated that some £54 had been collected in trophies for the sports on November 9. The Campbell-Ehronfried Company gave a trophy valued at £2. Messrs. McConochio and R. Arscott were appointed auditors, and matters in connection with the forthcoming sports were satisfactorily arranged.
