[from OUR OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] CAMBRIDGE.
THE polo season opened here on Saturday. Bleak weather prevented the usual large at' tendance. A game was played between sides composed of Messrs. Norman Banks, J. K. lower, and J. Taylor versus -Messrs. J C. Potts, J. L. S. Richardson, and W. Douglas, the former winning by 2 goals to 1. Dr. Roberts acted as referee. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs. U. E. Roberts and Miss Banks.
Mr J. Wallis. of Gorton. Cambridge, who has been on a visit to the Old Country, is expected back to-day (Wednesday). the following have been chosen to represent the local volunteer corps in a shooting match with a I'aeroa team next Saturday:— fcergrt. Anderson, Senjt.-Major Ferguson, Corporal Crickett. Privates Chadban, J. and W, Bruce G. C. Ewen, H. O'Neill. R. Cunningnam, and J. Lake; emergencies, Sergt. G. M. Watt, Lance-Corporal Bfanskill, Privates McVeagh. Mulling, and C. Hicks
