PARADE OF SCHOOL CADETS.

——• <«> The school cadet corps held a battalion parade in the Outer Domain yesterday afternoon. The muster was a, creditable one, notwithstanding that three corps were prevented from attending, owing to their schools having previously arranged to hold entertainments on the same evening. The following were the corps repre-sented:—Wellesley-street, school, Captain Burns, 44 all ranks; Beresford-street, Captain Cousins, 31; Napier-street, Captain Dunlop, 41; Nelson-street, Captain Paterson, 32 Devonport, Captain Macky, 29; Grafton, Captain McKay, 33; Newton .blast, Lieutenant Shipherd, 50; Newton West, Captain Gladding, 44; Parnell, Captain Munro, 44; Richmond Road, Captain Plummer, 30; Mount Eden, Captain Brown, 34 ; Reniuera, Captain Warnham, 26; Bayfield, Captain Robinson, 37; .Newmarket, Captain Andrews, 32. The field state showed a total of 505. Captain Grant was in command, assisted by Captain Walker and Captain Dunlop, who acted as major and adjutant respectively. Gunner Lambert filled the position of ser-geant-major. The parade was formed up in quarter-column by the left at three o'clock, on the hill in the Outer Domain, near the site of the old blockhouse. The battalion, which occupied a large space of ground, was moved to the right in fours, then wheeled to the left, halted, and fronted, and dressed as a column by the right, aftev which the companies inarched past, formed quarter-column on the leading company. Ranks were then changed, when the battalion marched past in quarter-column at the " trail." After resuming the original front, the battalion formed fours to the left, and wheeled to to right. A deployment was then made, and the line advanced in "review order." This movement ' was done in excellent order, a perfect line being kept. The marching of the lads could not have been better, and the battalion was repeatedly complimented by Captain Grant. About four o'clock rain "commenced to come down, and the corps were marched home and dismissed.
