The battalion, which occupied a large space of ground, was moved to the right in fours, then wheeled to the left, halted, and fronted, and dressed as a column by the right, aftev which the companies inarched past, formed quarter-column on the leading company. Ranks were then changed, when the battalion marched past in quarter-column at the " trail." After resuming the original front, the battalion formed fours to the left, and wheeled to to right. A deployment was then made, and the line advanced in "review order." This movement ' was done in excellent order, a perfect line being kept. The marching of the lads could not have been better, and the battalion was repeatedly complimented by Captain Grant. About four o'clock rain "commenced to come down, and the corps were marched home and dismissed.
