» URGES BOERS TO CONTINUE • FIGHTING. (Received August 3, 4.54 p.m.) London, 'August 3. The censor stopped the following Reuter message from Standerton 'on July s:—Driving, as prearranged, in a cart of four grays, Botha and his secretary recently lrought to Colonel Walter Kitchener at Platriano Kruger's reply to Botha's proposal for a surrender, as follows, addressed to Botha, De Wet, De la Rey and Steyn: — " Continue ' fighting. Alleviation will be sent when needed."
MAJOR KARRI DAVIS. (Received August 3, 4.54 p.m.) London, August 3. The London Gazette announces that the King has accepted the resignation of Major Karri Davis of the Companionship of the Bath in accordance with his expressed wish to serve His Majesty without reward. SURGEON-MAJOR BURNS. London, August 2. Surgeon-Majoi Thos. Burns, of New Zealand, is convalescent, and has resumed duty.
