Wellington, Wednesday. At a. meeting of the Chamber of Commerce the following resolution was carried unani-mously:--"That in the opinion of this Chamber the time has arrived when the colony should receive the benefit of the reduced interprovincial rate of postage, as provided for by an Act of 1891: that the Chamber is pleased to observe that the Premier's sympathies are with it in this matter, and that it be an instniction to the Council to forward a copy of this resolution to the Postmaster-General, with an expression of the hop? that he will see his way to issue the requisite Ordor-in-Council." lit was also decided, " That it be an instruction to the Council to again approach the Government on the subject of the subscription to the telephone exchange, with a view to obtain a reduction of the present excessive charges."
