ATHLETIC NOTES.
FOOTBALL. The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union was held at the rooms of tho Amateur Sports Club last evening, Mr. T. Henderson in the chair. Arrangements wore made for Saturday's match against the Upper Thames team, and it was announced in all probability that Tauranga and Coromandel representatives would visit Auckland and play a B team on September 2 and 9 respectively. Members of the touring team woro notified that it is imperative that all should attend at Buckland's saleyards for training this evening, and as the Rotoiti leaves Onehunga at daybreak on Tuesday next, the representative team will leave for Onehunga by t<he twenty minutes past ton train on Monday evening. Our Paeroa correspondent writes: Arrangements wero completed to-day for the running of an excursion to Auckland in connection with tho Upper Thames-Auckland match 011 Saturday. Hie s.s. Waimarie is to leave here at half-past nine o'clock on Friday night instead of Friday morning. Arrangements were made for Saturday's public schools matches as under ; —
A SECTION. No. 2 ground: Wellesley-street v. Devonport, Mr. Katterns, No. 3 ground: Grafton v. Beresford-stroot, Mr. Knox. No. 4 ground: Napier-street v. Ponsonby, Mr. MoUoy. Newton East forfeits its right to continue, having lost two matches by default. Parnell bye. f B SECTION. No. 5 ground: Onehunga v. Nelson-street, Mr. Maekie. No. 6 ground: Newmarket v. Epsom, Mr. Holland. No. 7 ground: Richmond Road v. Bayfield, Mr. Boyce.
