UNIVERSITY COLLEGE COUNCIL.

The ordinary mooting of tlie Auckland University College Council was held yesterday, when thero were present: Tho Most Bov. tlio Primato Dr, Cowio, in tho chair, His Worship the Mayor, tlio Rov. W. J. Williams, Messrs. R. Hobbs, F. E. Baunio, Gerald Peacocko, Jackson Palmer, and Dr. Maclaurin. Annual Examination: It was resolved that the annual college examinations lie hold cn October 23, and that the same arrangements as in previous years bo adopted. Now Wing: It was reported that the cost of erecting tho now wing was £1213 os td, and that £60 had boon retained to color the habi jty of tho contractor to maintain Iho building in repair for throe months. A communication was read from tho Professorial Board making reeommondatms as to the disposal of lecture and students' rooms. Sir Maurice O'Rorke wrote approving of tho schcino in general with a few minor'reservations. It was poinlod out that tho addition of ono or two hydrants was required. Tlio recommendations wero adopted, with tho reservations mentioned. The question of supplying hydrants was referred back to the Property Committee. Property Committee: The recommendations ol the 1 roperty Committee wero adopted. Assistant: Tho question of employing an assistant to the registrar was referred to tho finance Committee. Examiner: It was resolved that Mr. Thomas "ooil bo appointed co-oxaminer with Herr mitt in tho musio examinations, at the samo remuneration as before. Finance: Accounts to tho amount of £1051 As lOd was passed for payment.
