THE GISBORNE SAFE ROBBERY.

AN ARREST MADE. [lit TELHURAPII.—I'RESS ASSOCIATION.] (iisnoitNK, Sunday. Is connection with the robbery of a safe from the shop nf Mr. Adams, booksellor, on Thursday morning lust, the police have arrested a voting man named Xeilson upon suspicion. It is understood that the arrest has been made in consequence of a confession by another party. The safe was discovered carefully planted amongst tea-tree and other debris, on the bank of the river two miles from the town, and the boat in which it was conveyed is believed to have been sunk in Iho vicinity, the oars having been found buried in the paid on the opposite side. Tlio safe was intact-, the thieves having been unable to open it. The case has caused a good deal of ex.'itemcnt locally.
