PROPOSED EUROPEAN CONFERENCE. Press Association. — Electric Telegraph.—Copyright London, April 2. In the House of Commons, Sir Charles Dilke urged that Britain should convene a Conference, with the object o enforcing better treatment of thel natives in Africa. In reply, Mr. Curzon said that Britain was parleying with the Powers, with a view to holding a Conference. Ho denied that the Niger Company was exercising an illegal monopoly.
