ST. THOMAS' DRAMATIC SOCIETY.

Tub St. Thomas' Dramatic Society has already, on previous occasions, given several very finished specimens of amateur actiug, and gained a popular name for itself by reason ot tho completeness with which the pieces choson have been staged and gone through. For some time past the musical comedy, "My Sweetheart,' has been in renearsal, and lust night the initial performance was given in the schoolroom, which was crowded on the occasion. The piece, which is after the style of " Hans the Boat man," proved a decided success and added fresh laurels to the Society s fame. Mr. Fred C. Sherbourue, who took the part of Tony Faust, the hero, is the author of the comedy, and it certainly reflects great credit upon his ability. His acting was also very natural and praiseworthy. Miss Dulce Duuiiingham made a very pretty iim ("My Sweetheart"), and sang the two songs which fell to her part admirably. _ The low comedy was in good bauds in Miss Kate McGeehan and Mr. Tom Duuiiingham, who played Farmer Hatzell and his wife, whose troubles were many, and of a very ludicrous character, Mrs. Fleeter, the female villain 0 f the plot was forcibly and cleverly portrayed by Miss Sarelle Mc(*aehan, tin remaining characters beinc held bv Misses A. Allpress, D. Duuningham, and G. Sakey, and .Messrs. Dewick, Blackmail, Vince, and Morrill. The scenery, from the brush of Mr. W. Hutchinson, was a work of art, and did him credit. During the intervals items were given by Miss L. Arnold, and Messrs. Green and Thorn, and highly appreciated, and Miss Ida Sakey acted as accompanist very efficiently,
