Pro is Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyrlfcbt.

London, November 27. Messrs. Weddel, the well-known frozen meat dealers, were banqueted by the merchants of Manchester to celebrate the arrival of the Timaru with a cargo direct for • that city. The chairman of the Ship Canal Company, who presided, said he hoped the trade would grow to huge proportions. He declared they would fight the Argentine growers, and expressed the belief that the marking of imported meat would prove of benefit to the colonies.
