DROWNED IN A CREEK.

[BY telegraph.—press association.] Napier, Thursday. Alfred Williams, a settler of Clive, was drowned while attempting to cross a creek swollon by the flood water. He was returning from Waimarama, where ho bad been working. Ho was seen by onlookers on the bank to disappoar .beneath the water, bub they could do nothing. The body has not yet been recovered. Deceased leaves a wife and one child.
