Wellington*, Thursday. The Gazette notifies thab the census will bo takon on the 6th of April next year, and for Sunday, tho 5tU day of the said month.

Regulations as to the transmission or delivering of telephone mossagos through telephone exchanges are gazetted. Regulations for the examination of able seamen, and also those under tho Public School Teachers' Incorporation and Court of Appeal Act 1895 are gazetted, as well as rules of procedure under the Adoption of Children Acb 1895. The period for the election of Boards of Conciliation has been extended until 14th February next. The Gazette notifies thab the 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th December next, and Ist and 2nd January next will be observed as holidays in the public offices of New Zealand.
