There has been a general decline on the Stock Exchange owing to the prevalence of disturbing rumours regarding the state of affairs in the East. Imperial consols fell to 105$, ancl colonial stocks declined a half. Paris, November 10. A semi-panic has taken place on the Bourse in consequence of the unsettled state of affairs in the East. Constantinople, November 10, The Sultan has decorated Dalif Pasha, who was recently dismissed at the request of Sir Philip Currie, the British Ambrssador. London, November 11, The London and European newspapers praise Lord Salisbury's speech. The Armenian towns between Erzeroura and Trebizond are in ruins. The damage is estimated at a quarter of a million. The Governors of the local districts have been ordered to repress disorder under pain of punishment. The French Minister has demanded the head .of the Governor of Diarbekar. and the French squadron will hold Alexandretta, till he is executed, and as a precaution against injury to the foreign Consuls. The panic in Vienna -ys said to be 1 unequalled for 22 years. Shares have | fallen 100 per cent. The Rothschilds, both in Paris and London, are doing their best to allay the agitation. M. Doumer, the new French Minister of Finance, is conferring with finanj ciers in order to ; avoid the panic extending to France.
