The Northern Company's steamer Argyle arrived from Mercury Bay and Kuaotunu, and left for the Great Barrier. Yesterday morning the Tyser Company's steamer Star of England left for Gisborne to take in frozen meat, etc., for London, proceeding on to Napier and Southern porta afterwards to complete her loading. The Union Company's steamer Rotomahana left yesterday afternoon for East Coast and Southern ports. Yesterday afternoon the Union Company's steamer Ohau left for Westport. Messrs. Donald and Edenborough's steamer Richmond left for Rarotonga and Tahiti yesterday morning with a large miscellameous cargo.

The Northern Company's steamer Wellington left for Whangarei last night.

Last evening the Northern Company's steamer WaiotAhi left for Tauranga and Opotiki. Yesterday the Colonial Sugar Refining Company's steamer Fiona was cleared at the Customs for Sydney, and is now awaiting orders as to whether she will proceed to that port or Fiji. The Union Company's steamer Rotokino left the Bluff for Sydney yesterday. To-morrow the Shaw. "Savill, and Albion Company's steamer Doric leaves Lyttelton for London.

The barque Firth of Dornoch arrived at Port Chalmers from Glasgow yesterday, after a passage of 97 days. The Union Company's steamer Southern Cross left Awanui yesterday afternoon for this port, and is expected to arrive this evening. To-day the Union Ompanr's steamer Poherua is due from the Bluff, Oamaru, and Timaru with a cargo of produce. The Northern Company's steamer Ohinemuri was floated out of the Auckland Dock yesterday after cleaning and painting. On Monday the schooner Queen sailed from Hokiaiiga for this port, calling in at Kawerua on the way. The steamer Tasmania is expected to arrive early to-morrow morning from Southern ports, and will leave again in the evening for Sydney. The Norwegian barque Helene is now en route to Tonga and Fiji from the River Plate to load copra for Europe. At Newcastle the steamer Port Stephens is loading coal for San Francisco. This is believed to be the first steamer ever to load coal at that port for San Francisco. Including her bunker supply the steamer will take about 6000 tons.

Yesterday the steamer Wolverene was surveyed bv Captains earing and Fernandez and Mr. W. W. Brown, on behalf of the owners of the vessel.

The ship Forfarshire took on board a number of cases of kauri gum and casks of tallow for London yesterday. The ship Lumberman's Lassie, which put into Sydney in a leaky condition while on the voyage from Hobart to London with a cargo of timber, has been floated into dock and surveyed. She was found to be strained a good deal. The Union Company's steamer Hauroto left Sydney for Wellington yesterday. The British ship /Eolus, which went ashore at Cape Banks (S.A.) last September, while bound to Sydney from Table Bay, has disappeared to the bottom, and not a vestige of the vessel is to be seen from the shore. On a clear day the hull of the iEolus can be made out on the sandy bottom by those immediately overhead. On the 19th inat. the barque Acacia arrived at Sydney after a smart run of five days from Melbourne. On discharge of cargo she proceeds to Newcastle to load coal for this port.
