AUCKLAND COOLGARDIE PROSPECTING SYNDICATE.
The following is an exbraob from a letter received from Mr. Goodall yesterday, dated from Lake Cowan, Western Australia, Deoember 18, 1894, by camel team to Esperance Bay :— " In my last I told you wo were looking for the lode, and on the same evening I wrote we came upon the crown of it, showing fair gold. This we followed about 20 feet, and stripped across it, finding it to be 12 feet wide. It shows good gold all through it, bub best in the two walls. We extended the work on the part of the lode we first struok, and found gold there. In another hole to the south we have como on the cap of the lode again. We have nob found anything sensational yet. We proved the gold for at least 120 yards, and know ib is a big lode. If it were near Coolgardie we might geb £20,000 for ib directly. And yob the position here is better than at Coolgardie, for we are only 140 miles from Esperance Bay. I consider the weather here, on the whole, very fair, only about four hours in the middle of the day ib is very warm. The chief causes of illness are bad food and want of cleanliness. We ate all rh well as if we were in Auckland. As for myself, I was never better in my life. We leave here aboub Christmas for Coolgardie to geb stores and tools. We take lowb of our ore from here bo test lb.
