THE KAFFIR RISING.
Press Association.—Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Capetown, September 26. There are seven thousand Kaffirs outside Delagoa. They pursued the Portuguese settlers, captured a quantity of arms and ammunition. Further risings of the natives are feared. •The Governor protested against British marines landing. The town is protected by barricades. Foreign residents have formed a voluntary contingent. Capetown, September 27. The British marines landed at Lorenz Marquez, in Delagoa Bay, have reembarked, on the grounds that the Portuguese protection of the British Consulate and residents against the Kaffirs is sufficient.
