DEATH OF AN OLD JOURNALIST.
(by telegraph.—press association. J Napier, Thursday. Mr. H. C. Pirani, well-known in press circles, died to-day, aged seventy-seven. Until three months ago he filled the subeditorial chair of the Herald. He was formerly prominent in Masonic circles and as a chess player.
