THE CABLE RATES.
Press Association.— Telegraph.—Copyright, London, November 3. At the meeting of the Eastern Ex. tension Cable Company, the report showed that the receipts had been reduced £10,000 by the lowering oi rates. Sir J. Pender doubted whetbei Queensland would benefit by the cable which is to be laid to New Caledonia, but it would be otherwise i£ that colony adopted the Eastern Company's proposals.
