TASMANIA AS A NAVAL - STATION. Hobart, October 22. The Government support General Edwards' suggestion that the successor to Sir R. C. Hamilton should be a military Governor, as they believe Tasmania will become a great naval station. Ministers propose constructing a graving dock if a military Governor is appointed. -■.-■. London, October 22. The Pall Mall Gazette recommends Lieutenant-General Sir James Bevan Edwards as the new Governor of Tasmania.
