THE OHURA SPECIAL SETTLEMENT.
A meeting of the committee of the Northern Railways League was held at the office yesterday to consider the question of promoting the Ohura Land Association. Mr. F. Lawry, M If. R., was in the chair, and Messrs. C. J. Hutchinson, P. Oliphant, A. Kidd, Peacocke, and Kelly were also present. It was pointed out by those who had teen over the ground that there was a large extent of wood country there, and as a great number of bona, fide settlers had written to members of the League notifying their willingness to join such an association, it was resolvod that a meeting of all interested in the settlement of this block should bo called for Friday, Juno 3, at three p.m., at the League's office, for the purpose of forming a settlement to be called the Ohura Special Land Settlement No. 1. A code of rules is to be prepared by Messrs. Olipliant and Peacocke and submitted to a further meeting of the committee.
