The Siecle says that the Grand Duke of Baden, at the close of the German military manoeuvres, declared that Germany's sacrifices in the interests of peace had failed to propitiate her neighbours, who were only awaiting a propitious moment to Vegin the onset. Germany must regard the future with energy and resolution. The time was again near when they would have to unsheath their swords in the defence of German independence.
