THE POLICE AND CHARITABLE AID.

Wellington, Wednesday. For some time the police have been supplying the Charitable Aid Board with roports upon the character and position of recipients of aid. The Board found this a great help in discriminating relief, and the chairman characterised them at last meeting as a credit to the force. They showed that the ratepayers' money was not being wasted.
