At the meeting of the Walk ato lodge* of the 1,0.Q.F,,.M,U.,,th0 proposal of the Union Steamaliip Company to form a mutual Benefit Society on somewhat similar linos as Friendly Societies was discussed to a considerable length, after which it was unanimously resolved to assist in preventing the formation of bucli a society. Three members were appointed a committee to confer with the delegates of the other Thames lodges at an early date.
