A PUBLICAN DROWNED.

[by TELEGRAPH.— Press ASSOCIATION".] Reeiton, Friday. Moore Mawhinney, landlord of the Crushington Hotel, was accidentally drowned in the Inangahua River last nighb. The deceased and a man named John Murphy were on their way home from Reefton, and when about half a mile away on Black's Point Road, Mawhinney fell over the bank into the river falling about 20 feet into the surging water, the river being in fresh at the time. A search was made, a party being out all night, and the body was discovered this morning, the deceased's watch being found on a shinglo bank about half a mile from the scene of the disaster. It had stopped at nine minutes past twelve, probably the time of the accident.
