THE GOVERNOR'S VISIT TO THE THAMES.

Till': Mayor, Mr. McAndrew, has received the following telegram from the Hon. iMr. Cadmtin re the Governor's intended visit to the Thames • —" His Excellency the Governor has decided to postpoae his visit to the Thames for the present, and he has desired me to intimate that he has not abandoned tho trip, ns seems to huve been reported. In explanation, I might say that the Hinemoa had been placed at the disposal of His Excellency for his trip to Thames and Coromundel, but His Excellency has generously postponed his visit, in order to accelerate the search by the Hinemoa of the islands for the unfortunate people supposed to bo lost in the missing Kakanui. I expecb to confer shortly with His Excellency in Auckland, and will then let you know, if possible, when you may expect him at the Thames."
