The monthly meeting of the Maungaturoto Band of Hope was held in the Congregational Church on Monday, 2nd instant. Owing to the weather being unsettled and other causes the attendance was not so large as usual, but all present seemed to enjoy the following programme, which was successfully carried through Hymn (Hoyle's selection), No. 207, followed by prayer and address by the president (Rev. C. E. Davidson); hymn. No. 46 ; recitation, "The Shadow on the Blind," Miss Jackson; reading, "The Death of Little Nell," Miss Louie Rowsell; solo, "Little Nell." Miss Rowsell; hymn. No. 87 ; recitation, "What They Caught," Master Lenny Howard; recitation, The Jackdaw of Rlieims," Mr. Mason; hymn, No. 45; dialogue, " The Safest Course/' by the Misses Rowsell; hymn. No. 73. The meeting then closed with the Benediction.— Correspondent.]
