[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.} Thames, Tuesday. It will be of interest to many Auckland friends of Mr. James Darrovv, who has been seriously indisposed for some time past, to learn that he underwent a very painful operation at the hands of Dr. Williams to-day, as the result of which he is likely to be speedily restored to his former good health. Nominations for the various ridings of the Thames County Council were received at noon to day as follows, from which it will seen that a contest will take place in every ridirfg oxeept Parawai, for which Mr. T. A. Dunlop has been re-elected unopposed :— Waiotahi: James Coutts, Edmund Kersey Cooper, and Jas. Mclnteer. Totara : Thos. Kilgour, L. J. Bagnall, and John Teddy. Hastings : J. B. Steedman, Charles Manuel, and Michael McMahon. Kauaeranga ; Joseph L. Walton, William Deeble, William H. Potts, and W. H. Paltridge. Parawai : Thomas A. Dunlop. A poll for each riding takes place on the 12th inst.
