CROWN LANDS REVENUE.

The Crown lands revenue for the September quarter was £60,393 4s 8d ; ahd for the June quarter, £53,972 13s Id ; making a total of £115,305 17s 9d. The territorial revenue for the September quarter was £5*2,618 7s 3d, and for Juno quarter, £20,475 l_»s Id, making a total of £73,093 19 4d, to which will have to bo added pastoral rents receivable during the last quarter of the financial year. 'Ihe estimated land revenue for the year was £114,295, so that the revenue received for the first six months of the year exceeds tho total estimate of the year by £1070 17s 9d. The total amount of Crown land open for selection throughout the colony on 30th September last was 956,347 acres, distributed as follows :—Auckland, 297,012 acres; Wellington, 137,343 acres ; Nelson, 135,999 acres ; Southland, 103,309 acres ; Westland, 87,750 -acres ; Otago, 67,671 acres; Taranaki, 37,859 acres ; Huwke's Bay, 34,635 acres ; Marlborough, 10,700 acres ; Canterbury, 44,068 acres. The Crown lands selected during the quarter ending 30th September was :— For cash, 1*26 purchasers, 34,066 acres ; taken up on settlement conditions, 350 selectors, 161,148 acres. For the half-year ending the same date there were 285 purchasers for cash, taken 69,605 acres ; taken up on settlement conditions, 664 selectors, 262,381 acres. Last year'sSeptemberquarter showed 160 purchasers for cash, 61.59 acres ; on settlement condition, 347 selectors, 95,355 acres; and for half-year, 1890, 360 purchasers for cash, 18,702 acres; and 691 selectors on settlement conditions, taking 197,380 acres.
