VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
By the brigade orders published elsewhere the four infantry companies of the Auckland Garrison aro notified that their services are required on Saturday next to form a guard of honour to Sir Henry Loch, Governor of Victoria, on his arrival here by the mail steamer Zealand
Tho Auckland and Ponsonby Naval Companies are likewise required to form a guard of honour to Major-General Edwards, who is expected from Australia about Tuesday next.
The general inspection parade by General Edwards has been fixed to take place at the Drill-Bhed at 2 p.m. on tho 16th inst. The whole of the volunteers forming the Auckland Garrison, including the Onehunga Rifles, are under orders to-be present, and it is) probable that the South Frankly Mounted Infantry and Hamilton Light Infantry will also be required to attend. As Major-General Edwards is on a tour of inspection of the colonial fortifications and volunteers on behalf of the Imperial Government," it is to be hoped that merchants and others who have in their employ will see their way clear to give their men the necessary leave of absence, so that Auckland will be creditably represented on this important occasion.
