SHOCKING SUICIDE. [BY TELBOTJAPH.—-HIESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunkdin, Wednesday. A man named Arthur Empsou committed saicido in a mo3t determined manner at Caversham this morning. He refused a oup of tea in bed from his wife, knocking it out of her hand. Hβ then got up and went into tho kitchen, where he took up a breadknifo and made a wound in his throat. She ran out for assistance, when he apjieara to have taken a knife acid saw and used the latter to make a horrible wound. A neighbour was bo horrified that ho went off for the police and medical assistance, and on their return the man was dead. Etnpson had a station some years ago at Rangitata, Canterbury. He has been in Western Australia, and only came to Dunedin a few weeks ago. He has shown signs of insanity for some time, but his wife thought she could control him.
