Costello, who confessed to having murdered a woman named Annie Thornton, about four weeks ago, stating at the same time in extenuation of his crime that the deed was done in the course of a quarrel between himself and the deceased, has been sentenced to death.

THE CASE OF JUDGE ONSLOW. Perth, August 21. Lord Knutsford has decided that the charges made against Judge Onslow have not been proved, but in order to avoid future friction Judge Onslow is to be appointed elsewhere.
