BLAKE'S APPOINTMENT.

AN INTERVIEW.

OPPOSITION OF THE IRISH PARTY.

Received November 23,1.15 a.m. London, November 21. Sir H. A. Blake, in the course of an interview, stated that he considered the opposition to his appointment emanated from a small section of the Irish Party. He was prepared, if required, to go to Queensland and live down the hostility now shown towards him, and prove that he was unbiassed in politics.

St. Stephen's Review states that the Cabinet have decided that Sir H. A. Blake shall not go to Queensland, and are prepared to inform Colonial Ministries of the names of Governors before they are finally appointed.
