NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL ASSOCIATION.
The annual conference of the members of the New Zealand Medical Association commenced yesterday afternoon at the rooms of the Young Men's Christian Association, Wellesley-street. About twenty members were present, the Southern branches of the association being represented by the following gentlemen :—Dr. de Zouche, Dunedin ; Dr. Thomas. Christchurch ; Dr. Fell and Dr. Mackenzie, Wellington. Dr. Dawson, president of the association, occupied the chair. Dr. Lindsay was appointed secretary. The business yesterday was mainly formal. Some discussion took place as to whether the Press should be admitted, but it was decided that the meeting should be private, and th&fe at the conclusion the secretary should draw up a summary of any proceedings which were of general interest for publication. To-day the Southern delegates will be driven to Lake Takapuna, and the afternoon sitting will be omitted. To-morrow there will be an afternoon and evening sitting, and the dinner will take place to-morrow evening. On Saturday a trip to Remuera is proposed.
