[γ-ress association.] {SUICIDE OF A DEFAULTING OFFICIAL. Sydney, May 16. A man named McKee, railway stationmaster at Hay, committed suicide today. It is stated that his accounts were falsified, and that his defalcations amount to £1000. LORD CARRINGTON. Sydney, May 16. Lord Carrington has returned from his visit to Norfolk Island. COLLISION AT PORT ADELAIDE. Adelaide, May 16. A collision occurred at Port Adelaide last night between the steamers Gabo and Cowry. The latter was sunk, and the former beached. No lives were lost. THE MURDER OF A GIRL. Brisbane, May 16. No clue has been discovered as to the perpetrators of the outrage and murder of a girl at Buya. The murderer is believed to have been a black fellow. THE VICTORIAN HARVEST. Melbourne, May 16. Owing to recent splendid rains a great harvest is expected throughout the agricultural districts. VICTORIAI^PARLIAMENT. Melbourne, May 16. Parliament meets on the 12th June THE TONGAN WESLEYAN AFFAIR. Melbourne, May 16. The Wesleyan Conference have, in eflect, made a satisfactory compromise of the Tongan difficulty. The Rev. Mr. Moulton has agreed to retire, provided the Rev. George Brown succeeds him. This has been agreed to. SHIPPING. Sydney, May 16. Arrived : The Ika Vuka, from Auckland.
